CORPSE CASTLE - ORGAN GRINDER UPDATE

We've got a huge new update for you today that overhauls many elements related to combat, movement, PvP and even an entire new mini-game!


MOVEMENT

First I've made dramatic changes to the "Footing" System that make it much more forgiving allowing players to more easily navigate rough terrain. It's worth noting that every character in Corpse Castle is a fully simulated walking ragdoll which makes this process something closer to a robotics issue than an animation issue.

On that note I have also greatly improved your ability to navigate the meat while buried. Effectively players can now "swim" in the meat as long as they are submerged, so you no longer have to worry about footing when you can't see yourself.


COMBAT

I've taken a DOOM style approach to my enemies where each one serves a very specific function in terms of combat and gameplay objectives. To this end I've been balancing and rebalancing all of the enemies (especially the bosses) to better fit their roles and the overall difficulty curve.

I've also changed the way cooldowns on some attacks work in relation to other attacks. For example it is now impossible to spam punch while using the "Wrecking Ball" technique. This really helps to discourage spam and encourage tactical choices in PvP.


ORGAN GRINDER

And last but certainly not least we have ORGAN GRINDER, the exciting new mini-game in Corpse Castle! These mini-games will serve as the game's "Lore Scrolls" revealing logs, abilities and more as you progress. They also help to punctaute the meaty madness of the main game.

Organ Grinder unlocks after clearing the first floor of the "TOWER OF REBIRTH!" Anyways with this game I've made very small but significant changes to the Maze-Game genre that have dramatic effects! Starting with the...


DASH ABILITY

That's right you can now DASH! By double-tapping any direction you will perform a sped up motion that allows you to tunnel through enemies without dying! This lets players more effectively flee & hunt enemies, escape the vice-grip, and cover ground!


Next I will go over the enemies and their powers.

MINCEMEAT

Mincemeat is AGGRESSIVE! He's always mindlessly persuing the player and what's worse is he has your dash ability! If you get too close to Mincemeat he will lunge forward with lightning speed!


MINCEMEAT


Heartbeat is always trying to get ahead of you, and her pumping heart makes her FAST! Slowly throughout the course of each level her heart-rate wil steadily increase causing Heartbeat to move faster and faster until YOU CAN'T OUTRUN HER!


NO-FEET

No-Feet failed to emerge fully from the meat which slows them down, but this is her advantage. No-Feet is trying to cut off your escape by letting the other Ghouls chase you into them, and once she has found a good spot in the middle of an intersection No-Feet will stop moving completely! Rendering the 4 paths at the intersection virtually useless!


KING DAVE


King Dave commands the other Ghouls! Only when Dave is near are the others able to use their special abilities, when he is far away they are considerably less deadly. King Dave refuses to enter into combat himself however but he will stand on the periphery commadning the others.

Also upon killing King Dave the other Ghouls will enter a state of panic and confusion for about 10 seconds where they stop hunting you.
