Buggy Blood and Some Balancing



Hey I hope everyone is doing well. I haven't had many opportunities to watch players testing the game lately so it was really helpful YouTuber NanoHero tested the game on his channel. 

Watching him play I was able to make many observations on bugs and accessibility issues and have made a number of small fixes based on these. My first round of updates are as follows:

  • Nerfed the Sun Priestess - The Boss on the second level has a pretty high level of leech life which can make it hard to get through her defenses and deal actual damage. This coupled with her shared aligment with some enemies created an unintended level of challenge in that fight. So first I have maligned her to all the enemies, which means she will clear the floor before fighting you, and second I of course reduced her leech life/max-health just enough to make her more accessible.


  • Graphical Blood Bug - I noticed blank spots could appear in large pools of blood which is a bug I thought I had previously fixed. It's definitely (mostly) resolved now. Should a tile become displaced it will get reset during regular passes now.


  • Limits on Pooling Blood - I noticed spamming Blood based attacks resulted in potentially unreasonable amounts of it accumulating on screen which could interfere with combat beyond intended effects. So I have created a limit to how much blood can accumulate in the central level outside of the reservoirs.
